about
Emerging modern classical / outsider pop artist Carmel Smickersgill announces debut EP We Get What We Get & We Don't Get Upset, released 15th April on PRAH Recordings.
To celebrate, the Manchester-based musician shares "Questioning", a new track that plays with identity and which features disassociated vocals and a beat that lies underneath a joyful french horn line.
"I think how you react to something, how you pronounce your vowels etc when you're caught off-guard, really says a lot about who you are and where you've come from, says Smickersgill. ""Questioning" is a celebration of identity, but one to be taken lightly. Revel in the bold changes and big shapes."
The single was featured as the Near Future track on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music show.
